Progress
The Rigney committee is planning fundraising efforts for future renovations that will allow the venue to be used in a variety of ways to enrich the community, school and downtown area.
A structural condition assessment was completed in 2019 showing significant concerns with regard to the structure and roof. The first project consisted of repairs to mitigate roof leaks. Repairs were initiated to the main roof in November 2020 thanks to generous community-minded donors.
Initial cleanout took place in March 2021. Two roll-off dumpsters were filled with water-damaged materials.
Additional repairs to the high roof in the back of the building above the stage were completed in November 2021, thanks again to generous donors.
In 2024 a structural engineer was engaged to create repair drawings for the exterior of the building. In November 2024 work began to repair the exterior brick and will continue through 2025. The extensive exterior work is funded with State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds authorized by the American Rescue Plan Act.
